Being a vegetarian for more than 20 years, and an avid restaurant visitor and traveller, I am well aware of how hard it is to come by well made, and well composed vegetarian food. Especially at non-vegetarian restaurants the veggie food tend to be tasteless and boring and lack properly balanced nutriton, or the run of the mill boring pasta dish. Likewise, it is hard to convince my non-veggie friends to tag along to a vegetarian restaurant.
Luckily Hamburg has not posed a problem in the latter, much thanks to Season, a vegetarian day-time restaurant located in Altstadt. There are two Season filials, the main one at Schauenburger Str. 49 (two minutes walk from the rathaus) and the other one inside the Bucerius Kunst Forum at Rathausmarkt 2. They close at 6pm and 7pm respectively.
Season offers buffet with warm and cold dishes that taste absolutely delicious. My non vegetarian, meat-adoring friends loved the food! You can chose from a small plate and a beverage (EUR 6.50) or a big plate and beverage (EUR 7,90) or an all you can eat option for EUR 11,50. In the latter you pay extra for beverage.
The interioir is fresh, stylish contemporary, and is as far from new-age bohemian style of a vegetarian restaurants that you can get. It attracts lots of business people in suits during lunch hours and this I feel is a testimony of how good the food is.
Season is now one of my all time favourite restaurants! I highly recommend it, no matter what preference of food you have! Official website with the latest news and current opening hourshttp://www.season-food.de
